Brian Marshall is an American musician best known as the bassist for the rock band Creed and, later, the band Alter Bridge. He was born on April 15, 1973, in Mobile, Alabama. Marshall's musical style primarily encompasses post-grunge and alternative rock, characterized by heavy guitar riffs and emotive lyrics. Marshall gained prominence in the late 1990s with Creed, whose albums like "My Own Prison" (1997) and "Human Clay" (1999) achieved commercial success, with the latter featuring the hit single "With Arms Wide Open." Creed's blend of hard rock and spiritual themes resonated with a wide audience and played a significant role in defining the sound of post-grunge. After Creed disbanded in 2004, Marshall co-founded Alter Bridge with former Creed members Mark Tremonti and Scott Phillips. Their debut album, "One Day Remains" (2004), received critical acclaim and helped solidify Marshall's reputation as a skilled bassist and songwriter. His work with both bands has influenced a generation of rock musicians, and he is recognized for his dynamic playing style and contributions to the genre.
